SHYNE 1984-1985

As time went on, many things changed, but not only did the names changed, so did we - SHYNE took on a new persona, and things began to Rock n Roll...  We downsized from a 5 piece band to a band of 3 which soon became our trademark.

We did lots of dumb things, but we didn't do this! We found this wall behind a local Safeway grocery store and decided it would make for a kewl picture.

SHYNE 1984-1985 ROCKNROLL

In early 1984, we created our first real demo tape that we hoped would open doors for us down the road.  Of course, short on cash and time, we made this demo tape on a TEAC reel to reel 8 track (remember those?) in Randy's garage and then Randy and I mastered it down on a 2 track mastering cassette deck.  While the quality wasn't the greatest, you could start to feel the excitement in the air and the phone started to ring.  The following songs were on our 1984 demo tape.

Of course there were many concerts, but among them were the Pizza Galley Concert series.  While the name of these concerts may sounds strange to some, it really wasn't all that strange.  See, in the mid 1980's, Christian coffee houses were starting to appear on the landscape, however, there weren't many places other than clubs or churches for Christian rock bands to perform.  The Pizza Galley, located in Sunnyvale, CA, was one of the first places to open it's doors for such activity.  I believe it would hold about 300 people, and it was often the highlight of the week to go to these concerts...  These songs were recorded at the Pizza Galley in 1984.
